FSC® Audit 2026: Annual inspection of our certified forests successfully completed
Last April, at the Tenuta di Bagnolo estate, the FSC® Forest Management Certification audit for Società Agricola Limbara was successfully completed.
The three-day inspection confirmed the full compliance of our forest management system with the most rigorous international standards.
The audit included an assessment of the 10 principles, 70 criteria and 250 indicators required by the FSC® Standard, as well as an on-site inspection of the certified cork oak forests. It was a demanding process, carried out by the CSI team — the FSC® Standard Certification Body — to document the vitality of our forests.
Every audit is an opportunity to measure the progress made and further strengthen our sustainable management practices. Proper planning of certified forests allows us to maximise the potential of our cork oak forests, ensuring their longevity and productivity over time, while safeguarding them for future generations.
The five-year FSC® certification is valid for the 2026–2030 period, with annual inspections. Today, Società Agricola Limbara manages 337.97 hectares of FSC®-certified forests: 168.9 hectares at Tenuta di Bagnolo, in Tuscany, and 169.07 hectares across three forests in Sardinia.
This commitment also delivers tangible results from a commercial perspective: since June 2023, approximately 1,420,000 FSC®-certified cork stoppers have been sold — a volume that more than covers the costs of the entire certification process, confirming that sustainability and competitiveness can go hand in hand.
The forest is the beating heart of our cork company. That is why every audit marks a new starting point: an opportunity to improve, grow and continue working in harmony with nature.
