It is longtime that major Italian cork producers have joined to sensitize consumers regarding the application of cork stoppers to bottle our best wines. With the affirmation of alternative enclosures, indeed, Italian cork forests (but also European and northern-african ones) are disappearing. Cork seals became important not only to age both more and less fine wines, but especially to guard the planet from the desertification and the extinction of hundreds of animal and vegetal species that survive in the cork oak habitat.
