The results achieved by Sugherificio Molinas represent a great success for the whole team, the outcome of the constant effort we put into improving our business and the merit of your continuous support. We want to share them with you, in the name of the transparency that has always distinguished us.

In 2021 we consolidated our reputation as a leading company in the cork sector, reaching a turnover of over 36 million euros (up 18.2% compared to the previous year) with a production of over 1 billion and 800 million caps, up by 200 million units compared to 2020.

Italy has been confirmed to be our main market, where we have gained 22% growth. Other markets where significant growth was recorded were China (+ 3.6%) and South America (+ 8.7%).

Our reality is solid, with a team of over 200 employees; of these, 75% is represented by experienced and qualified personnel who can ensure that the products are made according to precise quality standards, while the remaining 25% is represented by young apprentices, essential for guaranteeing generational turnover and for maintaining a high level of know-how within the company. It is also significant that 51% of the positions of managers, employees and specialized technicians are occupied by women, demonstrating our particular sensitivity towards gender equality.

Regarding the protection and safeguarding of the environment, for several years now we have been adopting a circular economy model in which everything that enters the production cycle is used without any loss and waste. The main interventions have concerned the reduction of the consumption of fossil fuels and the implementation of the use of renewable energies.

Almost all of the fuel that we use in our plants (94%) comes from ecological biomass; in addition, we own three photovoltaic systems that allow us to self-produce more than 2 MW of energy, equal to 34.15% of our total energy needs. The energy produced in this way allowed us to avoid the emission of more than 4800 tons of CO2.
