Agraria Riva del Garda Joins the Pondus® Project

Five years after their initial collaboration, Agraria Riva del Garda — a Trentino winery established in 1926 and transformed into a cooperative in 2000, producing wine since 1957 — and Sugherificio Molinas continue their journey together to enhance wine quality with Pondus®. The shared objective is to provide each wine with its specific cork closure, particularly emphasizing the most prestigious wines. The wine chosen by the cellar for the bottling trials is the Chardonnay Trentino DOC "Loré".

The renewed collaboration is highlighted by Furio Battelini, the winery's oenologist, expressing trust in Sugherificio Molinas: "We sought an Italian producer capable of managing the entire supply chain, sizable enough to ensure a seamless supply, and proficient in overseeing the entire production. Over the years, Sugherificio Molinas has proven to be a reliable partner, especially in supplying our higher-quality products."

Sustainability and improved wine bottle aging drive participation in the Pondus® project, where the technical and qualitative superiority of cork is a crucial prerequisite, as Battelini affirms, "the most satisfying closure."

"I believe that a more pronounced weight-based differentiation can create more homogeneous batches, yielding a more consistent impact on the wine within the same batch, providing the oenologist with an additional control tool," Furio Battelini continues “Pondus® also offers the possibility of differentiating the evolution of the wine, speeding it up or slowing it down according to the needs of the market. In this way, for example, wines that need to be put on the market quickly can be allowed to mature in a shorter period of time”.

Once again, Pondus® proves to be an opportunity for mutual growth and innovation, pursuing the shared objective of enhancing quality for both of our entities.
