The cork stopper Pondus® is obtained thanks to the ponderal selection of every single cork stopper.
Made with a high precision balance, this selection rejects all the light or heavy cork stoppers compared to an optimum standard weight. This selection allows to obtain a cork stopper with a specific weight that guarantees the perfect sealing of the wines without having extraction problems . This standard weight expresses the right quantity of fatty acids and of suberine wax present in every cork stopper, whose percentage increases after the corking owing to the reduction of its volume. The light cork stoppers are rejected because the weak concentration of suberose substance could cause leakage problems, while the heavy units are rejected because too dense or with a remarkable presence of wooden particles that could create problems at the uncorking. Years of experience and research showed that the cork stopper Pondus is the ideal seal for all the premium wines.
